Frequently Asked Questions
What is life coaching, exactly?
Life coaching is a structured partnership focused on your goals — clarity, confidence, habits, relationships, balance. Unlike a friend's advice, it's objective; unlike a course, it's personalized. My role is to listen deeply, ask the questions you're not asking yourself, and keep you accountable to the change you want.
What's the difference between a life coach and a therapist?
Therapy often looks backward to heal — treating diagnoses, trauma, and mental health conditions with a licensed clinician. Coaching looks forward to build — goals, habits, decisions, and growth. They complement each other, and some of my clients work with both. If what you're facing needs a therapist, I'll tell you honestly.
Can a life coach help with imposter syndrome?
Yes — it's one of my specialties. We work on recognizing the thought patterns, separating feelings from facts, and building durable confidence. I've written about my own experience with it: "Silencing Self-Doubt"
Do I have to choose between career coaching and life coaching?
No — this is exactly why clients work with me. I'm certified in both, so a session can move from your job search to your stress levels to your confidence without ever needing a second coach. Most clients blend the two over time.
Why does ICF certification matter?
The International Coaching Federation is the gold standard in an unregulated industry — anyone can call themselves a life coach. ICF certification means documented training hours, mentored practice, and a binding code of ethics.
