How Coaching Works:
From First Call to Loving Your Work

Hiring a coach shouldn't feel like a leap of faith. Here's exactly what working together looks like — no mystery, no pressure, and no payment until you've decided it's right for you.

The Process, Step by Step

What a Session Actually Looks Like

Expect focused, honest, practical work. I listen without judgment, ask the questions you're not asking yourself, and tell you the truth — including the truths recruiters usually keep to themselves. One client described it as "supportive yet down-home honest." I set high expectations, and you'll feel motivated to meet them.

Coaching Packages

I offer coaching in prepaid packages scoped to your goal — a focused resume-and-LinkedIn engagement is a different investment than a full career change or ongoing life coaching.

Every engagement starts with the free consultation, where I'll recommend the right package for your situation — and tell you honestly if a smaller one will do. For a transparent look at what career coaching typically costs across the industry, read my guide: "Understanding Career Coaching Costs".

"She gave me concrete steps to take each week, breaking the job search process down into achievable steps."

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does coaching take?

It depends entirely on the goal. One client landed an offer after three hours of coaching; a full career change typically takes longer. In your free consultation I'll give you an honest estimate for your situation — and we adjust as you progress.

Are sessions in person or online?

Online, by video. I'm based in Walnut Creek, California, and work with clients across the Bay Area and the entire U.S. Video sessions mean no commute, easy scheduling, and coaching that fits around your work day.

How should I prepare for the free consultation?

Just come as you are. If you have a current resume, have it handy — but the most important thing you'll bring is honesty about what's not working. I'll guide the conversation from there.

What if I don't know what my goal is yet?

That's not a problem — it's a starting point. "I'm stuck and I don't know what I want" is one of the most common places clients begin. Finding the direction is the coaching.

What's your availability for new clients?

I'm currently accepting new clients.

Do you offer life coaching through the same process?

Yes — the process is identical: free consultation, personalized plan, video sessions. Many clients blend career and life coaching in the same engagement, since I'm certified in both. [Learn more about Life Coaching]
